Basswood Shutters in Crystal Palace Posted on 17 Nov 14:26 , 0 comments

We recently installed our Cuba Basswood Shutters at a home in Crystal Palace, South East London. Our Cuba Shutter range is a our entry level hardwood product, and a popular choice.

Our client was looking for window coverings for their Master Bedroom & Guest Bedroom in their terraced property. With a large bay window and 2 sash windows to dress, they selected our tier on tier shutter range, which covers the window with an upper set and a lower set of shutter panels.

By selecting Tier on Tier they will have the full versatility provided by plantation shutters. Allowing for maximum flexibility in light levels and privacy. With panels covering the whole window, but with separate top and bottom panels that work separately of one another.

Due to the size of windows and the tier on tier style chosen, our Cuba shutter range was a great material to choose. Due to it being crafted using hardwood for the panels and MDF for the frame, it is slightly lighter in weight than our purely MDF shutters Antigua, so there is less risk of sagging over time, which can be an issue on larger windows. Additionally with our Cuba shutter range you can hinge 4 panels together which is a huge benefit particularly on a large bay window, they are finger jointed making them incredibly durable and hardwearing. The combination of MDF & hardwood materials also provides a cost effective option for hardwood shutters.

Our clients chose to have hidden tilt rods, this means that the mechanism that opens and closes the louvres is hidden within the frame of the shutters. They selected the Pure White paint colour which is a popular choice in a our standard colour range for Cuba which has 23 standard colours to choose from, and with 76mm louvres.

We think that they look great!
