Bespoke Shutters in St Albans Posted on 30 Sep 11:49 , 0 comments

Our client approached us with a vision to install shutters throughout their home – including the hallway, stairwell, bedrooms, and living room. Rather than opting for the traditional white, they were drawn to bolder, more distinctive colour choices such as black and grey. Their goal was to make the shutters a standout feature while ensuring they complemented existing woodwork like the front door, window casements, and fixtures.

To bring this vision to life, they selected our Fiji range – a premium hardwood shutter material. Fiji is not only ideal for larger window expanses due to its lightweight nature, but it also offers an extensive colour palette, making it perfect for projects requiring customised finishes. They also decided upon full height shutters with midrails for extra support.

In addition to window shutters, the client was also seeking a stylish and practical solution for dividing two upstairs rooms. Shutters work exceptionally well as room dividers, offering both separation and light control through adjustable louvres. This functionality was especially important in the stairwell area, so they opted for our larger 89mm louvre size for this part of the house to maximise light flow while maintaining privacy.

The finished installation is both elegant and impactful. The bold colour choices create a dramatic contrast while seamlessly blending with the home's existing features. These bespoke shutters not only enhance the interior aesthetic but also provide flexible light and privacy control throughout the space.
