Motorised Skylight Honeycomb Blinds Installed in Ladbroke Grove, West London Posted on 16 Jun 10:30 , 0 comments
Our client in Ladbroke Grove, West London, approached us looking for an effective shading solution for a large skylight window in their living room. Skylights and roof lights are increasingly popular architectural features, particularly in modern extensions, side returns, and conservatories, as they flood interiors with natural light and create a bright, open feel.
While skylights offer many benefits, there are times when controlling the amount of light and heat entering a room becomes essential. The right blind solution can help reduce glare, improve comfort, keep rooms cooler during the summer months, and retain warmth during winter, contributing to greater energy efficiency throughout the year.

For this project, we recommended and installed three Adaptor Motorised SmartFit Skylight Honeycomb Blinds, all operated via a convenient remote control. The skylight measured an impressive 2,685mm wide by 1,720mm high, and due to its size, we recommended dividing the coverage into three separate blinds to ensure smooth operation and optimal performance.
The blinds featured a framed SmartFit system designed specifically for sloped windows, with a 25mm (3/8") single-cell honeycomb pleat. The frame was finished in Pure White, while the fabric chosen was Silver Satin Light Filtering, providing a soft, diffused light while reducing harsh sunlight.

The finished installation complements the living room beautifully, delivering a clean, contemporary appearance alongside practical light and temperature control for year-round comfort.
